3.7 A Bench at a Park (Sight and Touch)

The bench simply looked romantic. Running past the park today, I paid closer attention to one of the benches there. The bench sat beside a lamp post; I used to sit on that particular bench on early Saturday mornings while waiting for my running buddies. As I observed, I fabricated stories in my head that made use of the bench. First, I imagined old couples and young parents on it. Second, I also imagined pet owners on it. For the rest of it, I imagined myself. I would dare to sleep on that bench if park security rules permit.

If a person's hand isn't wet, sweaty, or sticky, then it is dry, rough, and coarse. Its lines and ridges would be felt right away, and its texture is a nice one. The bench's dry wood felt like that--uneven, a little smooth, and hard. Its color is a mix of a dark and light shades of brown fused together. Its whitish-brown color resembled that of the core of a pili nut, while the darker color looked like Hershey's milk chocolate (not dark chocolate) or Nestle Crunch. It had a black outline made of steel. With four lined long planks of wood stretching across to both ends of the bench, the bench's weight is supported by blackish green legs made of steel. Its length is about five and a half feet.
