G1: sorry, I'm not a Stephen King fan, but I now read The Green Mile because of the film...it will be showing here soon.
G2: Oh, really? And you should try reading his books. I liked Apt Pupil and The Body. As for his novels, I liked The Stand and Thinner. They're really good books. This one [reaches out for a book] was almost okay but the ending really sucked. I think King almost always resorts to aliens when he can't think of a suitable ending.
[they begin to walk out the door from this point]
G1: I haven't read any of his works... I have this feeling that I might not be able to put them down when I start... But I like Anne Rice and Shakespeare...haha
G2: Anne Rice's prose is too unwieldy...and syrupy...
G1: I heard that Stephen King's wife is actually responsible for writing some of his works?
G2: That's most likely not true... Although Tabitha King is also a novelist, Stephen King admits she helps a lot by being his first reader and in giving suggestions...
